UKHRUL: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Tuesday inaugurated its Shamator Division Office, marking a key step in strengthening the party’s organisational base in the newly created district in Nagaland.
Addressing party workers, NPF Secretary General and MLA Achumbemo Kikon said the opening of the office reflected the party’s long-term commitment to Shamator. He said discussions had been held with the district administration, Shamator Town Public Forum and ward unions on issues of urban planning, environmental concerns and infrastructure development.
Stressing that Shamator is both a new town and a new district, Kikon emphasised the importance of planned development and appealed to landowners to voluntarily contribute small portions of land for road widening to improve connectivity and convenience.
Reaffirming NPF’s motto “Fide Non Armis” (By faith, not by arms), Kikon highlighted the party’s commitment to peaceful dialogue in resolving the Naga political issue. He also assured efforts would be made to identify land for constructing a permanent party office in Shamator.
