NPF Manipur State Unit receives 35 applicants, To fight polls for 15 seats

Senapati: The Naga People’s Front, Manipur State Unit (NPF-MSU) has declared to file some 15 seats in the coming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, 2022. This was stated by the General Secretary (Admin) of the NPF, Manipur State Unit in Senapati.

In an exclusive interview in Senapati district, Honreikhui Kashung, general secretary (Admin) of the Naga People’s Front, Manipur State Unit stated that as per sitting of all Naga People’s Front, Manipur State Unit office on November 29 last, the general secretary (Admin) of the NPF stated that issue of party form for applicants who are intending for the party ticket for the next 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, 2022 had started from December 6 last and to close on December 15 at 4 pm.

Till date, the party has reportedly received 35 applicants from 11 different assembly constituencies.

Honreikhui Kashung, general secretary (Admin) of the NPF, Manipur State Unit further stated that the NPF, Manipur State Unit intends to file some 15 candidates from the party in the coming elections, 2022.

The general secretary also mentioned that the party workers will see to the applicants who are eligible for the party ticket which will be decided by the party ticket committee and the party authority in the near future.

It may be noted that the NPF, Manipur State Unit (NPF-MSU) was first introduced to Manipur State Legislative Assembly in the year 2012 with 4 MLAs who got elected.

Another 4 MLAs from NPF got elected in the next election held in 2017 and the party is a coalition Govt with the BJP led Govt in Manipur state that has 2 ministers at present.

Earlier, Awangbow Newmai, Minister, FECC & Sericulture who also holds the president post of the NPF, MSU had stated that the NPF is hopeful to acquire double digit seats in the next assembly elections scheduled for early next year.
