The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Ukhrul division organised mass tree plantation on the occassion of Van Mahotsava 2021 under the theme ‘Plant More Trees and Safe the Environment and Climate’ on Monday.
Joining the rests of the nation and contributing its share on the occassion of national tree plantation festival, the NPF Ukhrul division planted more than 1600 tree saplings at various places starting from Bakshi ground till Kaziphung, Hungpung.
Speaking to the Ukhrul Times, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, caretaker chairman of ADC Ukhrul who had planted a tree at Bakshi Ground as an act of participation on the National Tree Plantation Day appealed the district populace to plant more trees and safe the mother earth from the environmental degradation and climate change.
We encourage all the citizens of Ukhrul and Kamjong to plant trees to save and conserve the environment, he added.
