Peh village declared containment zone; 11 tested Covid positive in Ukhrul

In view of the rapid increase of Covid-19 positive case and detection of 7 new cases in Peh village, the district magistrate Ukhrul had sealed, barred entry and exit of population from the whole area of Peh village in north of Ukhrul district.

The DM had also ordered to initiate active surveillance of Covid case with immediate effect.

According to district surveillance officer Ukhrul, 11 fresh Covid positive case were detected on Monday taking the total positive case to 62, while cumulative positive stands at 730 of which 436 are males and 294 are females.

As part of the containment measures, it had sealed, barred entry and exit of population from the containment area and had directed to initiate active surveillance of Covid-19 cases.

Any person, institution and organisation found violating any of the above measures is deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
