Kohima, September 29: With the Government of India recently extending the ban on the NSCN-K for five more years, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) said that it “believes that all conflicts can be resolved through dialogue”. As such, the NPF urged the Government of India to actively engage all ‘Naga political groups’, including those currently outside the peace process, to reach a durable and honourable settlement of the vexed Naga  political issue.

In a statement issued today, the NPF said, “As a regional political party committed to peace and dialogue, the NPF supports all efforts that strengthen Naga unity and a shared, peaceful future”.

The NPF then lauded the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), the Sümi Hoho, all Naga ‘tribal hohos’, civil society organizations, church leaders, and ‘Naga political groups’ for successfully organizing the historic Reconciliation Meet at Zunheboto on September 27, 2025.

The NPF, in a statement issued today, said the adoption of the Zunheboto Resolution is an important step for the Naga people on the path to peace and unity. The NPF appreciated the “courage and responsibility” shown by everyone involved in committing to forgiveness, stopping hostilities, and working together for One Naga Machang. The NPF said this kind of cooperation is essential to create a common political voice that reflects the hopes of all Nagas.

The NPF also welcomed the “spiritual aspect” of this initiative, including the call for prayer and reflection throughout October. True reconciliation starts in the hearts of individuals, and this spiritual focus will guide the Naga people toward a fair and honorable political solution.

The NPF then said it “encourages every tribe, organization, and political group to continue upholding the spirit of Ungma and Zunheboto Resolutions”.
