NSCN IM holds meeting with Sumi Civil Society leaders at Poghuboto (Sumi Region)

NSCN IM on Thursday held a meeting with the Sumi Civil Society leaders at Poghuboto under Sumi Region where the group briefed them on the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks.

The joint meeting was attend by NSCN members comprising Maj. (Retd.) Hutovi Chishi, Convener, Steering Committee; Mr. Kihoi Swu, Convener, CFMC (Cease Fire Monitoring Cell); Mr. Ikato Chishi Swu, General Secretary, CNC (Council of Nagalim Churches); Mr. Pasheto Chishi Swu, Caretaker, Sumi Region and Chairperson, NSWON (National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim).

The press statement said, “the people of the area expressed their understanding of the talk and took the stand to fully support the Indo-Naga political solution that is honorable and acceptable.” Adding that the Sumi Civil Society leaders at Poghuboto under Sumi Region “took the stand that solution must include Naga flag and Yehzabo (Constitution).”

The civil society groups from the Sumi Region present in the meeting as mentioned by the group are:

1. Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho

2. Aphuyemi Kukami Hoho headed by the President and Advisors

3. Aphuyemi Totimi Hoho

4. Aphuyemi Students Union

5. Church leaders
