NSCN-IM in its rejoinder clarified that it is constrained to counter the particular news intended to “put the NSCN on the wrong side of ceasefire ground rules that governed both the NSCN and security forces.”

“To put the incident straight, they were arrested along with one public (civilian) without any weapons and documents in their possession. The public was carrying” one kartoos (SBBL cartridge) for hunting,” NSCN clarified.

The rejoined issued by MIP of the NSCN-IM on Monday further said that such “fabricated news by Assam Rifles is tantamount to willfully committing lies to deceive the people (public) to tarnish the image of NSCN as going against the ceasefire ground rules. Such fabrication by PRO (defense) targeting NSCN had happened numerous times in the past exposing the AR’s ruthless and dishonest manner of dealing with NSCN that is in ceasefire and political talks with the government of India.”
