DIMAPUR, JUNE 18: The NSCN-IM has adopted three important resolutions today during a ‘joint council’ meeting of the organisation.

The ‘joint council’ of the NSCN-IM was convened today at the council headquarter, Hebron, near Dimapur in Nagaland, to deliberate on the “critical issues” confronting the Naga national movement. Following intensive deliberations, the joint council unanimously adopted landmark resolutions to reaffirm its unwavering stance on the Indo-Naga political struggle, said the NSCN-IM today.

The first resolution said that, the NSCN-IM, under the “resolute Collective Leadership of Yaruiwo Ino Q. Tuccu, Kedalo Ino Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Ino Th. Muivah, and Deputy Ato Kilonser Lt. Gen. (Retd) Vs. Atem, VC, explicitly declares that it has never surrendered, nor will it ever compromise or surrender, the sacred Naga national cause”.

The second resolution said that the ‘joint council’ “explicitly endorses and supports the Collective Leadership in guiding the NSCN/GPRN and leading the Naga people in their historical movement for self-determination”.

The third resolution said the ‘joint council’ “firmly reaffirms its commitment to stand its ground in protecting, defending, and honoring the historic Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015, as the foundational basis for an honorable political settlement”.

Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM called upon all Naga citizens, regional authorities, and sympathizers of the cause to stand united behind the “Collective Leadership during this defining hour of our history”.
