Imphal: The NSCN-IM has strongly refuted recent media reports that claimed six other “Naga Army personnel” died alongside Capt. Winson.

The group clarified that only Capt. Winson was “martyred”, and no other Naga Army personnel lost their lives in the battle with KNA(B). “This was proved to be unfounded. Only Capt. Winson was martyred and no other Naga Army died in the battle with KNA(B),” the NSCN-IM stated.

The NSCN-IM expressed pride in the “brave Naga Army personnel who have the courage to be in the frontline of the battle for the Naga nation”. They conveyed their “heartfelt” condolences to the family of Capt. Winson, who was martyred on June 15, 2024, in a battle against KNA(B) at Angko Hills Range in Myanmar.

The group also stated that the “Naga nation” saluted Capt. Winson and paid “our hearty” homage to him for laying down his life in the line of duty for the cause of the “Naga nation”.
