Chandel: In a bid to uplift spirits amidst the ongoing crisis, the Naga Students’ Union, Chandel, along with its federating units, organized a friendly football match against Brothers at Pine Field Turf Ground in Chandel on Saturday.
With the theme “Motivating One Another Through Sports,” the match concluded in a draw, with each team scoring 11 goals. Both teams expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing that the match aimed to foster motivation rather than determine a winner in these challenging times.

Elly Ruwnglal, President of NSUC, expressed contentment with the friendly match, highlighting the importance of mutual encouragement during the ongoing crisis. “The past 11 months have been extremely challenging for the people of Manipur, and it’s crucial to support each other positively,” he remarked.
Wilpelngam Nula, Vice President of All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM), echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the need to promote positivity and peace amidst adversity. He urged both teams to contribute to restoring peace in the state, stating, “Efforts must be made to bring normalcy and peace back to our state.”

Joyshing Monsang, a national elite referee, praised the match as a means to inspire and connect with people, emphasizing the universal language of sports. “Sports transcends barriers and serves as a powerful tool to unite people,” he remarked.
The friendly football match attracted a large number of fans and supporters, all advocating for peace and harmony in the region.
