NEW DELHI, SEP 13: The Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD) organised its annual blood donation camp on September 12 in association with the Blood Bank Departments of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and BLK Max Super Speciality Hospital, Rajendra Nagar.
The camp, which began at 8:30 am and continued until 5 pm, saw around 60–70 donors from different Naga communities in Delhi, according to the NSUD.
The Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER), Delhi Police, provided security and logistical support for the programme.

The annual blood donation initiative was first launched by the NSUD in 2018 and has since been adopted as one of the union’s major annual projects. The union said the initiative has contributed to meeting urgent blood requirements during medical emergencies.
NSUD also acknowledged the financial support extended by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and outer Manipur constituency member of Parliament Alfred Kanngam Arthur towards the initiative.
The union expressed gratitude to the AIIMS and BLK Max blood bank departments for their medical collaboration, SPUNER for security and logistical assistance, and the various tribal units under the NSUD for their coordination.
The NSUD particularly thanked the individual donors from different Naga communities, saying their voluntary participation formed the foundation of the initiative.
The union said it would continue the blood donation camp as an annual project and encouraged Nagas residing in Delhi-NCR to participate in future drives. It also appealed to community members to respond to urgent calls for voluntary blood donation for patients undergoing treatment at hospitals across Delhi-NCR, stressing that blood donation should not be limited to organised events.

The latest camp follows the union’s continued efforts to maintain a community-based blood support system in Delhi. In an earlier camp reported by Ukhrul Times in August 2025, more than 100 donors participated in the NSUD blood donation drive, which was organised in partnership with SPUNER, AIIMS and BLK Max Super Speciality Hospital. The NSUD has also maintained a blood bank initiative aimed at helping members of the Naga community access blood during medical emergencies.
