Oldest person alive in Peh aged 105 laid to rest

A.S Longvila, wife of Late A.S. Khamang, the first pastor in Peh village, breathed her last on August 29 at 1 am. Blessed with five children, 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, Longvila was laid to rest at Peh village today.

She died at the age of 105 years.

“She often told us about her experience during the Second World War when she was in her 20s”, said her oldest son A.S Ramthing.

According to the reports given by Women society of Peh Village, Longvila was one of the first women to initiate women activities in the Church. The villagers grieved that they have lost a mother to all, but their pride lies in knowing that she lived a healthy long life. She was known in the village as a prayerful and blessed women.

Longvila lived a serene and healthy long life. Family members said that, although she lived for more than 100 years, her senses were all clear except for her eyesight. She was healthy, happy and unburdened till her last. She was laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
