Covid-19 claimed a 76-year old man on Thursday taking the total death toll in Ukhrul district to 11 and total active cases to 123.
No positive case was reported in Kamjong district.
As Covid-19 fatalities and number of positive infection rate show an upward trends, the Assistant Commissioner Ukhrul advised people who have had come in contact with late Thuingaleng Kazingmei who died of Covid-19 on Thursday for strict isolation and inform the medical department for necessary action.
The deceased identified as Thuingaleng Kazingmei (76), H/o Yarmaila Kazingmei of Lunghar Village succumbed to the disease on Thursday afternoon at district hospital Ukhrul.
The total cumulative positive marked 342 while total active case reached 123 in Ukhrul district – 199 Male and 143 female.
The total active case are: Covid Care Centre Phungreitang 72; district isolation ward 20, Jessami isolation centre 24, Lambui isolation centre 2, Tongou village community isolation centre 1, Shangkai 3, Maichon community isolation centre 1, while 10 cases have been referred, according to district surveillance officer Ukhrul.
Meanwhile, the DM Ukhrul had declared six residences as containment zone. They are of Late Thuingaleng Kazingmei H/o Yarmaila Kazingmei of Lunghar Village; Ramyo Athary H/o Wonthar Athary, Phungreitang West (Zingran Hotel building); Thumra Ngalung H/o Chanchan Ngalung, Ringui Village and Wino bazar Ukhrul; Amit Agarwal S/o Jugal Agarwal Viewland-1 (MAKHAN STORE); Leishichon MC, W/o Winner Mayotang; Wungnaosui Horam H/o Soreiwon Horam, Wino bazar and Maysair Grocery.
While six residences have been revoked from the containment measures as all the family members have been retested and found negative. They are: Vashimla Zimik, Ringui village Ukhrul; JS Jacob H/o Mahala, Khamphasom tang Ukhrul; Ramchanpam Kengoo S/o Luckson Kengoo, Khamphasom tang Ukhrul; Makanmi Theirei H/o Wonmayo Theirei, Phungreitang West; Khushiram H/o Alaka, Wino bazar (Mandir) and Wungkuiza AS, Alungtang Ukhrul.
The district reported one Covid-19 death and seven new positive case on Wednesday.
