Chandel: Bharatiya Janata Party, Chandel District in collaboration with District Administration and MACA (Maha Area Chief Association) conducted “One Day Mission of Clean Chakpi River Chandel District Manipur” on Wednesday morning.

The cleanliness drive was sponsored by SS. Olish Lamkang, MLA, 41-Chandel (ST) A/C.

Leaders and volunteers from Chandel district headquarters neighbouring village/s participated in the cleanliness drive.The area stretching from Monsang Pantha river bank to Modi village were broadly covered during the one day mission drive. Waste materials such as plastics, bottles, bags, paper, metals, toys etc were collected and burnt.

It may be mentioned that the Chakpi river is the main lifeline of Chandel district. Preservation and protection of Chakpi river is the most felt need of the hour for the interest of the general public.
