One Killed, Vehicles Damaged in Suspected Kuki Militant Firing Along NH-202

UKHRUL: A traveller from the Tangkhul community was shot dead on Saturday afternoon along National Highway 202 while travelling from Imphal to Ukhrul, in an attack suspected to have been carried out by Kuki militants.

The incident reportedly occurred near T. M. Kasom village along NH-202. In the attack, at least three other vehicles were also damaged.

The deceased has been identified as S. W. Chinaoshang, son of S. W. Ruichumhao, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Tashar village in Ukhrul district. Official confirmation of the identity, however, is still awaited.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, and further details are awaited.
