Kohima: According to a reliable source, Nagaland government held an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday.

The emergency cabinet meeting has effectively decided to call off the ongoing Hornbill Festival 2021 in solidarity to 14 civilians of Mon district who were killed by Indian security forces.

According to the meeting, only artisan stall and perishable goods stall will remain open.

The cabinet meeting also decided to write to the centre government to repeal AFSPA from Nagaland state in lines with what Rio had said to media on Monday.
