Over 3 crores sanctioned for 37 Tribal Museums in Manipur

The Manipur government on Wednesday sanctioned a sum of Rs 3,88,50,000 (Three crore eighty eight lakhs and fifty thousand) for construction of 37 tribal museums in different parts of Manipur.

The fund for construction of Tribal museums has been transferred to the following 10 Districts: Imphal East, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Tamenglong & Noney.

The order from the Commissioner (Arts and Culture) stated that the amount sanctioned shall be drawn and deposited with DCs concerned. The works shall be executed by the committee of village concerned to be constituted by DC concerned and the museum so constructed shall also be maintained by the community themselves.
