Ukhrul, Dec 30: Peh FA is the new champion of Longthan Trophy 2022. Peh FA defeated Tenglon FC by a score margin of 4-0.
Mansak Raising, Jersey No. 18 struck the first goal in the 9th minute. Chihanmi Kharay, Jersey No. 6 scored the second goal in the 42nd minute. Somunghor Kharay, Jersey No. 4 scored a brace in the 67th and 83rd minute.
Social Worker, Jordan Pheirei, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest. He expressed immense gratitude to Phungcham Football Association for organisng such football tournament at the grassroot level. He implored the gatherings that through this kind of tournaments, the youths should inculcate the spirit of unity and oneness among the neighbouring villages.

Shomi Rongui of Peh FA and Mikyan Shimrang of Peh FA was declared the best player and best goalkeeper of the tournament while Kompei Zimik of Theikar FC walked away with the top scorer title. Kompei Zimik scored 5 goals in the tournament. The winner of 9th Longthan Trophy received a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and runner-up Rs. 15,000.
Organised by Phungcham Football Association, the 9th edition of Longthan Trophy 2022 that kickstarted on December 23, 2022, wind up today at Phugcham Village, Ukhrul District, Manipur. Football lovers from neighbouring villages came and witnessed the final match played today with much enthusiasm.
As part of promoting football at the grassroot level, the Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA) has been debuting match commissioner and referees of UDSA at various football tournaments being orgnaised in different parts of Ukhrul District.
