Imphal: Despite the calls for peace from various quarters including the chief minister, people continued to block main roads to disrupt the movement of security forces in the valley area.
People blocking the roads, however, allowed movement of civilians even though four-wheelers were checked at some places.

Among others, roads which can be used as diversion routes like the Tinsid Road remained blocked from Sunday. The same roads continued to block at various places right from the city areas till today.
According to the people, they were doing to prevent movement of central security forces while asserting that movement of state police were not blocked.
Talking to this correspondent, a woman involved in blocking the road at Khurai Lamlong Bazar, alleged that they were not satisfied with the “bias” attitude of the central security forces in dealing with the situation.

The central security forces rushed to the violent-hit sites only to protect the militants and not the villagers, she alleged.
Another woman expressed her strong suspicion of the central forces while alleging that they (the central security forces) transport guns and ammunition only to supply to the militants.
Along the Tidim Road (Imphal-Churachandpur Road) people were blocking the road at various places to prevent the movement of central security forces.

While blocking the road, they were forced to stop even vehicles of the state police and security forces to check if any central security personnel were in the vehicles.
At some instances, they engaged in heated arguments with the officials of the security forces and personnel.
