Photography Exhibition Held as Part of National Unity Day

Kohima: On the occasion of National Unity Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, a photography exhibition was organized by the Department of Information & Public Relations at the State Museum, Directorate of Art & Culture, Kohima on 25th October evening.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha who was a special guest of the celebration. He inspected the photographs and later highlighted the observation of National Unity Day.

It may be mentioned that National Unity Day is celebrated on 31st October to promote nationalism and a feeling of unity among Indian citizens. The day was first celebrated in 2014 and is observed on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was born on 31st October 1875. 

The programme was Chaired Additional Secretary, IPR, Asangla Imti. The programme was attended by officials from the Department of Information & Public Relations and Art & Culture. 

The week-long celebration of Unity Day will go on till October 31. The celebration is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence.
