Police issues fraud alert in Meghalaya

The Meghalaya police has registered a case against an unknown user for trying to dupe people through emails.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said various complaints have been received by the district police that an unknown user with the email id managingdirectoremail112@gmail.com is masking as the Head of Department of various institutions and is trying to dupe the colleagues/subordinates/contacts of the victims by asking them to send money.

In this regard, a case has been registered with the Sadar police station. The police officer also urged the public not to fall prey or respond to any emails received from the email address.
