15 Acres of Poppy Cultivation Destroyed in Churachandpur

CHURACHANDPUR: A combined team of Churachandpur district police, 36 AR, CRPF 1 IRB, NAB Churachandpur and Forest department, Churachandpur conducted destruction drive against illegal poppy cultivation at G. Monglian Hill Range in Churachandpur district, Manipur. 

Per police, the total areas of illegal poppy destruction was estimated to be 15 acres (approximate) which was estimated to yield 3 kg per acre i.e. 45 kg, if harvested after cultivation. 

During the destruction two huts were also burnt down. An FIR has been registered at SKT PS for investigation, the police added.
