Ukhrul: The Poumai Naga Union (PNU) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Khole Timothy of Purul Akutpa Village from Senapati District, a distinguished member of the community on being conferred the prestigious title of Professorship in Mathematics in Delhi University.
In a formal letter to Dr. Timothy who is also the serving president of the Poumai Naga Union, Delhi cum National Capital Region, the PNU lauded this exceptional milestone as a testament to the individual’s dedication, academic excellence, and unwavering commitment to advancing education and research.

The PNU further noted that this significant milestone marks the beginning of even greater accomplishments in the scholar’s illustrious career. The union wished the professor ongoing success in all future endeavors, reinforcing the community’s unwavering support.

The Naga Peoples’ Organisation (NPO) said it extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Timothy of on his remarkable achievement of being appointed as a Professor of Mathematics at Delhi University.
“This is a proud moment not only for Dr. Timothy but also for the entire Naga Community as he becomes the first Naga Professor of Mathematics at Delhi University. His hard work and dedication have brought great honor to our People. We share in the joy of this Milestone and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” said the NPO in a press release Thursday.

Joining the celebration, the Poumai Naga Tsidoumai Me (PNTM) said it extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Khole Timothy, “who has made history by becoming the first Naga to achieve the prestigious title of Professor of Mathematics at Delhi University.”
PNTM said that Dr. Timothy, a highly regarded figure in the academic community and a respected resident of Purul Akutpa village, the Naga Professor has been honoured by the Department of Mathematics with this elevated distinction, effective December 29, 2024.”
The Poumai body also said that his achievement reflects Dr. Khole Timothy Poumai exceptional expertise and commitment to mathematics, showcasing academic journey and his relentless dedication and passion for knowledge, significantly advancing in the field. “His success inspires aspiring scholars, embodying the transformative power of perseverance and passion in achieving academic excellence,” added PNTM.
