Marking the 71st birthday of prime minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has rolled out a 20-day mega event to mark 20 years of the prime minister’s public life.
Under the campaign named ‘Seva aur Samarpan Abhiyan’, a 20-day celebration of various activities which began today on September 17 on his birthday will end on October 7 as this will mark the 7 year of Narendra Modi’s prime ministership dedicated to public service.
To commemorate prime minister Narendra Modi birthday under Seva aur Samarpan Abhiyan, former deputy speaker MLA, MK Preshow Shimray and BJP Karyakartas of Chingai Mandal graced and took part in the 2nd LKTO Football League at Lorre Kajui village under Ukhrul District.
Preshow extended financial support and presented sports material to the organizing committee. He also distributed hand sanitizer and masks to the organisers and to the Village Authority.
Speaking at the occasion, Preshow encouraged the youths to stay fit and healthy. He stressed on the importance of getting up early for morning exercise followed by study hour. Preshow also quoted saying “Substance abuse does not elevate one’s well being, but healthy lifestyle and abstaining from drug and addiction will provide a fulfilling sense of freedom in life.”
Extending greeting from him and on behalf of his wife to the invitees, friends and the villagers in the function, he also reminded all the villagers in the function to constantly wear mask, especially the age group of 18 years and below, on the possibility of a third Covid-19 outbreak.
He also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Village Authority especially the headman, David Ronra, Youth leaders and Shanao Long leaders for the sumptuous lunch and hospitality.
On the sidelines of the 2nd LKTO Football League, he had a close door party meeting with the BJP Karyakartas along with the Booth President.
He also visited Nungbi Khullen village and visited Prayer mountain for a moment of blessing and prayer with Pastor and Church leaders.
Meanwhile, BJP Manipur led by BJP Manipur Pradesh president, Sharda Adhikarimayum kicked off Seva aur Samarpan Abhiyan with a swatch bhart campaign, a social service to celebrate the birthday of prime minister, Narendra Modi.
