Prof Jagdish Mukhi Sworn in as Nagaland Governor

Governor of Assam, Prof Jagdish Mukhi took oath as the 20th governor of Nagaland today at Raj Bhavan Kohima. The oath taking was administered by the Judge of Guwahati High Court, Kohima Bench Justice Songkhupchung Setro.

Prof Jagdish Mukhi will now discharge the functions of the governor of Nagaland in addition to his charge as Governor of Assam until a fresh appointment is made.

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind appointed governors for Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Uttarakhand on September 9.

Former Nagaland state governor R N Ravi, also the centre”s interlocutor for Indo-Naga political talks, a retired IPS officer of Kerala cadre (1976), was appointed the 26th governor of Tamil Nadu. R N Ravi took the oath of Nagaland governor on August 2019.
