Qr. Hopingson A Shimray has officially joined BJP Manipur Pradesh at BJP state office today in the august presence of Manipur Pradesh BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, chief minister N Biren Singh, Education minister C Rajen, Assam cabinet minister & Manipur elections Co-Incharge Ashok Shingal, MP Rajya Sabha Maharaja Leisembam sanajaoba and other party leaders. 

The felicitation programme was attended by a large gathering of his supporters and well wishers.

Speaking at the occasion, Hopingson A Shimray said, “We will not fail you, we will bring definitely bring victory to 43-Phungyar A/C BJP party lead by him will surely be the next winner of the upcoming election.” He expressed his thankfulness to his party supporters for their sacrifices in financially support and for all the logistics, coming from different villages to make the event of today’s a success.

Chief minister N Biren Singh in his speech welcomed the 12 Naga People’s Front (NPF) members who recently joined BJP and said “They love BJP more, even if NPF is a coalition party.” Stressing on prime minister’s sloganeering, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas as the basic mantra for every Indian citizen regardless of the faiths they practice to work for the country and its development as one India.

“A historic day for the people of 43- Phungyar (ST) Assembly Constituency in particular and for the people of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts and Manipur in general as a tall, revered and respected leader like Qr. Hopingson A Shimray (MCS & IRS Retd.) and former president of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has officially joined BJP, the largest political party in the world and also the ruling party in the central and state governments,” said Michael Shaiza, BJP Manipur Pradesh/ State Co-in-charge Department of Political Programmes and Meeting cum President Ecological Rehabilitators Association (ERA).

Michael further said “Qr Hopingson’s joining BJP Manipur Pradesh is not only a boon for BJP and the people of Phungyar assembly constituency but also for himself as through BJP, he will be able to serve his people in optimal level. He is also the most prominent BJP intending candidate of 43-Phungyar A/C.

Blessing ceremony by his native village Marou was organised for Hopingson A Shimray on September 28 under the aegis of Village Authority attended by all villagers in support of his candidature to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 from 43-Phungyar A/C.

Hopingson A Shimray’s resignation from the post of TNL president on August 31 was accepted by TNL on October 13. The former TNL president had expressed his contentment in bringing the TNL and Hunphun together and resolving the issue between them saying, “there will be no fault finding between TNL and Hunphun village, and that they will live in harmony”.
