Resident of one Church Clerk burnt to ashes in Tamenglong

No fatality from the fire incident was reported but suffered losses in property worth over 4 lakhs, source said.

In an unfortunate incident of house fire around 10:30 AM on Friday morning, house of one Liangdinang Panmei (70) s/o Hojinang Panmei of Bhalok (Phallong) Part-1, Tamenglong District, was completely gutted down to ashes along with Church property.

Source said that the villagers came to notice the fire in the midst of the blaze, with the nearby villagers who tried to douse the the fire but to no avail. No fatality from the fire incident was reported but suffered losses in property worth over 4 lakhs, source said.

Liangdinang Panmei works at St John Catholic Church, Phallong, as Clerk/Treasurer and was reportedly keeping the Chruch cash in his house for safety reasons, however the fire destroy everything that was in the house. Source said that the cash which belong to the Church amounted over 1.50 lakhs.

Liangdinang Panmei is a widower and has six children. He is the sole bread winner of the family.
