Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak Honored with AC Kanmi Foundation’s Award for Excellence 2024

Ukhrul, October 25, 2024: In today’s society, it takes courage and humility to recognize and appreciate the contributions of others. The AC Kanmi Foundation’s Award for Excellence 2024 was awarded to Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak, acknowledging his impactful service to the community.

In his acceptance speech, Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak expressed his gratitude to the community and the AC Kanmi Foundation for the award and the honor. He stated, “I never knew there was such a foundation, and I never imagined I would be honored and acknowledged by our community. But I am here today, and I am grateful to God for everything.”

Reflecting on Christian values, he added, “In Christ, we are one. Remember this gospel. We go to church, and the next day, we start fighting and hurting each other. This is not the way of Christianity. Someone must stand up and say, ‘No, this is not right.’ As ordained reverends, we should be spokespeople for God, speaking the truth and not twisting His words.”

The President of Tangkhul Naga Long, Sword Vashum, presented the award to Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak, stating, “You deserve it; you and you alone deserve this.”

AC Kanmi, from Khangkhui village, began his career as an enumerator with the Government of Manipur. Over 39 years, he rose through eight promotions to the position of Manipur Civil Service (MCS) officer, serving diligently as a government servant. In honor of their beloved father, his children established the foundation to support noble causes within the community.

The award ceremony was held at UBC Church in Ukhrul Headquarters on Friday, attended by prominent members of the Tangkhul community.
