RK Somendro Singh, the well-known Manipuri actor who has transitioned into a social activist, had recently written a letter addressed to Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, urging immediate action towards implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur. In the letter, he underscored the unanimous decision of the Manipur State Assembly to abrogate the Suspension of Operations (SoO) with Kuki militants, a move seen as crucial in bringing about peace in the conflict-torn state. He urges the central leadership to consider this decision and initiate peace dialogues with all indigenous stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Manipur.

Kaiku had previously served as a member of the BJP, having joined the party ahead of the 2022 polls along with several other members from the film fraternity. Kaiku was also the vice president of Lok Janshakti Party, Manipur unit. He resigned from the BJP in September 27, 2023.
