Roadside-Waterfall: Tamenglong

Published on

Travelling in Tamenglong during monsoon can be quite challenging but with no doubt, it is one of the most fulfilling experiences.

The pitiable road connectivity and countless disadvantages in development and lack of communication in the district on the one hand, which I think will take another decade to reach Imphal, and another decade before my kids grow old…
Yet on the other hand, the beautiful landscapes, the mountains, the rich rain-forest, the waterfalls and many more tourist destinations Tamenglong offers is quite a treat for every explorer. Few knows about the rich natural beauty in this part of Manipur. There are many untouched attractive places waiting to be explored.

One of the best part of traveling during monsoon here in Tamenglong is that you will see a good number of waterfalls just by the roadside en-route to the district headquarters. But the best waterfall spots are only for those travelers who really want to explore beyond the commonly known places. I’m telling you this, the way to reach those exotic spots is not for everyone.

This photo was taken on my way back home 30 kms from Tamenglong. We just had to stop and get some quick shots and feel that chill of standing near the waterfall. And why won’t we? Look at this beauty! That chilling breeze is everything you need for a reset when you are travel exhausted.

It will be a treat to your eyes and soul. Come and feel Tamenglong!
