Imphal, Dec 22: Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur (STDCM) submitted a memorandum to the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) in Imphal on Thursday.
A seven-member delegation of the NCST arrived in Imphal on December 20 on a three-day visit in the state.
The STDCM submitted the memorandum today before the delegation left Imphal for Delhi concluding its official tour in the state.

A nine-member delegation of the STDCM led by its president, Dhiraj Yumnam submitted the memorandum during a meeting with the NCST team at Hotel Classic Grande.
The delegation met the NCST after taking an appointment through the staff of the hotel, a press release of the STDCM said.
The STDCM is currently campaigning for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the scheduled tribe list of the Indian Constitution.

Earlier, the STDCM had written to the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST) to give them an opportunity of meeting the visiting NCST team on learning the visit of the NCST.
However, no response received from the MSCST till date, the STDCM said.
