SDTOA & SDTDU Appeal to Repair Damaged Portion of NHs

Must Read

Senapati: The Senapati District Truck Owners Association has appealed to the concerned authorities to repair the damaged bridge and stretch of road along NH-2 for the free flow of goods-carrying vehicles. This was stated in a press release issued by K. Daikho, Secretary of the Senapati District Truck Owners Association, on Wednesday.

It may be noted that the recent flood situation in Manipur has caused landslides along NH-37 (Imphal-Jiri road) and led to the restriction of the movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles beyond 12 tones on NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) due to the damage to a bridge. This situation has resulted in a shortage of essential commodities in the state.

Considering this reality, the Senapati District Truck Owners Association and the Senapati District Truck Drivers Union has requested the NHIDCL and its concerned contractors to restore the movement of all vehicles along NH-2 by repairing the damaged bridge at Ch. KM 200+950 along the Kohima-Mao Road, NH-2, near BPCLE service station in Jakhama, at the earliest for the free flow of goods-carrying trucks in the public interest.
