Senapati: 2 killed on spot in road mishap

Senapati: A Dimapur bound vehicle with passengers met with a road accident, killing two persons travelling in the vehicle on Tuesday morning in Senapati district.

According to sources, the incident happened after a head-on collision between the passenger vehicle and an Alto car coming from the other side along the National Highway 2 at around 8 am.

The passenger vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the river, killing two passengers at the spot, while the Alto car hit the offside road.

According to sources, residents of Kathikho Karong, Khabung Karong and Poumai Naga Students’ Union rushed to the spot and with their intervention, rescued the other passengers from drowning in the river.

The other injured persons have been admitted at Senapati District Hospital.

Altogether 14 persons, including a driver, were travelling in the passenger vehicle at the time of the incident.
