Senapati CSOs and General Public Bid Farewell to Lamnunthem Singson at Senapati

Senapati, June 19: With news of the arrival of the mortal remains of the late Lamnunthem Singson, the Air India hostess who died in the air crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, residents of Senapati came out to bid farewell to the departed soul, whose remains were brought from Dimapur on Thursday evening. A condolence service was led by the Naga People’s Organization (NPO) at Senapati Bazaar in honour of the deceased.

Giving his condolence message, Kuba Peter, President of the Naga People’s Organization, stated that on behalf of the organization and the citizens of Senapati, he extended his deepest and heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of two daughters of the state—Lamnunthem Singson and Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam—who lost their precious lives in the unfortunate Air India plane crash on June 12, 2025, in Ahmedabad. The President affirmed solidarity with the grieving families and shared in their sorrow during this time of immense pain and loss.

The President prayed that the Almighty grant strength and solace to the bereaved families and that the departed souls rest in eternal peace.

The two local MLAs of Senapati, Shri L. Dikho of 48-Mao AC and Shri Komuo Sha of 47-Karong AC, also sent messages conveying their heartfelt condolences. They expressed deep sorrow and shared in the grief over the loss of two precious daughters of the state.

Wreaths were also laid on behalf of the two MLAs of the district; A. Kapani, Ex-ADC Chairman, Senapati; the Naga People’s Organization; the Senapati District Women’s Association; Karong Senapati Town Committee; Poumai Naga Union; Makreliu Village; Senapati Kuki Police; and well-wishers.

Thangminlen Kipgen, President of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, expressed gratitude to the people of Senapati for the love and care they had shown during this time of grief and sorrow.
