Agartala, Jun 19: Over 100 CRPF personnel from Agartala learned to combat financial fraud and identify fake currency notes during a specialized financial literacy programme conducted by the Reserve Bank of India at their battalion headquarters on Thursday.
The Reserve Bank of India, Agartala successfully organized the Financial Literacy Awareness Programme at 124 Battalion, CRPF, Salbagan, Agartala on June 19, 2025. “The objective of the programme was to educate and empower the troops with essential knowledge on financial literacy,” officials stated, covering crucial topics including digital payments, prevention of financial fraud, consumer grievance redressal mechanisms, and identification of fake Indian currency notes.

The event witnessed the participation of several senior officials from both CRPF and RBI. Distinguished attendees included Yatendra Kumar Rajput, DIG Range CRPF Agartala, Trupti Kanta Hati, DIG Tripura Sector, and Ravish Kumar, Commandant of 124 Battalion. The RBI delegation was led by Surendra Nidar, General Manager/OIC, and Onsing Marchang, General Manager from RBI Agartala.

The programme attracted active participation from personnel across multiple CRPF units in the region. “Over 100 personnel from 124 Battalion, CRPF as well as GC CRPF, Agartala & Range CRPF, Agartala actively participated in the session and gained valuable insights from the experts,” organizers confirmed.
The interactive format of the session proved particularly beneficial for participants. “The interactive nature of the programme allowed the participants to clarify their doubts and better understand various financial safety practices,” officials noted, enabling troops to engage directly with RBI experts on practical financial concerns.
The initiative reflects growing emphasis on financial education within security forces. “Such awareness initiatives are considered vital for the holistic development of the force personnel and are appreciated for their practical relevance in today’s digital and financial environment,” according to organizers.
