UKHRUL: The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has condemned the actions of Kuki militants against the Thonglang Naga village at Zaimeng Lake, Senapati District, on March 21, 2026.
In a statement, the SDSA expressed its anguish and alarm over the actions of “Government of India-sponsored Kuki militants under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement,” including arson, vandalism, looting, and intimidation directed at the residents of Thonglang Naga village. The SDSA labeled these acts as a continued provocation by the Kuki militants against the Naga people.

“The acts of arson, vandalism, and intimidation towards innocent Naga civilians are unacceptable. The youth of our district will not remain mute spectators to this cycle of repeated aggression,” the statement read.
It emphasized that the “cowardly and barbaric acts by immigrants against peaceful Naga villages have instilled panic, fear, and trauma, particularly among women and children, who are the most vulnerable members of society.”
Furthermore, the SDSA questioned the intentions of the Government of India, asking how the Kuki militants, while under SoO, can carry out such actions freely despite the extensive deployment of armed forces in the state.
“This ongoing cycle of violence perpetrated by the Kukis in our district, from the Ireng Konsakhul, Waphong Inthan, and K. Lungwiram areas to recent incidents, clearly demonstrates a calculated and preplanned expansionist agenda against the indigenous, peace-loving Naga people and their land,” the statement asserted.
The student body also recalled an incident from early February when Kuki miscreants desecrated property belonging to the SDSA at Tapon Naga Village by inscribing “kuki” on the bark of a tree in the middle of SDSA Park.
“Despite this provocation, our office chose to remain silent, upholding the spirit of utmost restraint and peace,” they explained.
