The first-ever Senapati Entrepreneurs meet was  successfully conducted at Tsiibe Hall, District Headquarters, Senapati. The event was graced by Nichiite Duolo, CEO, Entrepreneurs Associate, Nagaland, the first Naga Ashoka Fellow, 2000 and Social Entrepreneur of the Year, World Economic Forum, 2016 amidsts a host of entrepreneurs from diverse trades and various leaders from the district.

Addressing the conclave, Longni John Tao while giving the keynote address highlighted the objectives of the conclave.” The need of the hour is a job creator and not job seekers. The youths must think out of the box and find opportunities in problems to usher a conducive entrepreneurs ecosystem”, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Nichiite Duolo, the multi-award-winning social entrepreneur enthralled the gatherings with his influential insights on entrepreneurship. “This event is not historic. It is the urgent need of the hour”, he remarked while expressing his enthusiasm about the event.

Reminiscing on his entrepreneur journey, he spoke fondly on his entrepreneurial journey. “Many lucrative government jobs were offered but I declined them and chose to follow the road less travelled”, he conveyed.

“We live in yesterday years and we plan for tomorrow with yesterday’s ideas. Government jobs do not empower but create dependency. It is our society’s Cinderella’s dream yet an infectious virus that has programmed in our society. Our mentality must take a U-turn to emerge from the cocoon if we are to be resilient tomorrow. Business is a game of merit, creativity and innovation. The land-based economy is our biggest asset. Look beyond retailing. Do smart business. Our society has a unique feature of venturing into any business with a band and ending with being bankrupt. Be like butterflies, not caterpillars”, he encouraged the gatherings.

Lauding the effort of the organizers on the occasion, the national awardee shared how Entrepreneurs Associate, Nagaland started as a nascent organization, then to a powerhouse of incubating entrepreneurial minds and an employment-generating institution, now till date, the organization has assisted 18000 individuals, infused 400 crores as a micro-finance unit”, he said. “I look forward to working as a team and collaborating with the entrepreneurs for creating a vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem in our region”, he expressed in delight.

The event witnessed various entrepreneurs from the district getting the opportunities to interact and extricating the three big questions of entrepreneurship, “What, Why and How”.

The event concluded with the launching of Senapati Entrepreneurs Associate as a formal organization.
