SENAPATI: A new mobile tracking system introduced by the Senapati Police is beginning to show results, with officers successfully recovering several stolen mobile phones and returning the first batch to their owners on Friday.
The recovered handsets were handed over at the District Police Headquarters in Senapati in the presence of police officials and the owners.
Police said the system was put into use a few months ago and has significantly improved their ability to trace missing and stolen mobile phones.
So far, around 10 to 15 mobile phones have been traced through the new system, while five of them were returned to their owners on Friday. Police said efforts are underway to recover the remaining devices and complete the legal formalities before handing them over.
