The TYCM, in its press release issued on October 4, recalled that it had earlier submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary on July 14, 2025, and another to the Commissioner, Health & Family Welfare, on July 15, 2025, urging the authorities to consider Senapati District, a rural hill district, as the proposed site for the MRHRU.

After several rounds of consistent follow-ups, representations, and lobbying with the concerned authorities, the council said it was “pleased to see the government materialise our demand into action.” TYCM also extended its sincere appreciation to all officials who cooperated and assisted throughout the process.

The council further appealed to the concerned authorities to initiate further necessary action at the selected site without delay, highlighting that the establishment of the MRHRU will help address the healthcare hardships faced by people in rural and hill areas of Manipur.
