Ukhrul, May 3: The Shirui Lily Festival Local Organising Committee (SLFLOC) has appealed to the concerned authorities for the early completion of the greenroom construction and the repair of the main stage at the Heritage Centre, Vangayan Shirui Village.

Speaking to this correspondent, Mayopam Shang, Secretary of SLFLOC, stated, “The construction of the greenroom at Shirui Village, which also includes changing rooms and toilets at the main venue, is yet to be completed. We request the concerned authorities to complete the work at the earliest so that we can host the upcoming Shirui Lily Festival 2025 smoothly.”

He further added, “The ceiling of the main stage is in a dilapidated condition, and one of the lengchenggui/takan (arch-like structures on the rooftop) is broken and requires immediate repair—well in advance of the 5th edition of the Shirui Lily Festival, which begins soon.”

Meanwhile, blacktopping of the road from NH 202 to the main venue is currently underway and is expected to be completed before the grand opening on May 20, 2025.

Preparations are in full swing to ensure the smooth and successful celebration of the much-anticipated Shirui Lily Festival 2025.
