Imphal: Manipur unit of Shiv Sena on Sunday hailed the Centre’s Agneepath scheme for the recruitment of youth in the armed forces.

The scheme will help strengthen the country’s defense sector, said Shiv Sena Manipur unit president, M Tombi Singh who talked to reporters at the party office in Imphal today.

He said that the scheme will help guide the unemployed youths of the country in the right directions and appealed to the youths of the state to take advantage of the scheme.

Tombi also said that youths of the state should take part in the recruitment rally to be held in the state. He, however, alleged that opposition political parties are spreading false propaganda on the scheme.

Tombi said, “The opposition is trying to take this issue in a different direction. Politicizing it is not appropriate.”

He also said that some political parties are trying to misinterpret the scheme to the masses without digesting pros and cons of the scheme.

“The scheme will be an opportunity for the youth across the country to serve the nation,” he added.
