Imphal: Justice Siddharth Mridul has been sworn in as the 7th chief justice of the High Court of Manipur. Governor Anusuiya Uikey administered the oath of office during a solemn ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhawan. The new chief justice expressed his commitment to resolving all pending cases at the High Court.

Several dignitaries attended the swearing-in ceremony, including Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Thokchom Satyabrata, chief minister Nongthombam Biren, cabinet ministers, BJP MLAs, chief secretary, DGP, acting chief justice of the Manipur High Court MV Muralidharan, and other high-ranking officials.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, chief justice Siddharth Mridul expressed his eagerness for a productive tenure. He noted that there are currently 3,335 pending cases in the High Court of Manipur and stated his intention to work towards disposing of these cases through proper hearings.
