Kohima: Two candidates, Wangpang Konyak of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Wanglem Konyak of the Indian National Congress (INC) submitted their nomination papers on October 19, 2023 for the bye-election to the Tapi assembly constituency, Nagaland. 

The filing took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Mon district, under the supervision of Rongsenmenla, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), and Returning Officer of the 43-Tapi assembly constituency for the upcoming bye-election in 2023.

The last date for making nominations is October 20, 2023 (Friday). The nominations will be scrutinized on October 21, 2023 (Saturday). The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 23, 2023 (Monday). The by-poll will be conducted on November 7, 2023 (Tuesday). 

It can be mentioned here that the bye-election to the Tapi assembly constituency of Nagaland will be held along with five states’ assembly elections from November 7 to 30, while counting will be held on December 3.
