GUWAHATI: In a significant leap in specialized healthcare for the Northeast region, the Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) Hospitals on Monday launched a new hospital in Siliguri with an advanced Robotic Surgery Programme for Urology and Nephrology.

This milestone marked a significant leap in bringing world-class, minimally invasive treatment closer to patients from Northeast and neighboring regions that otherwise had to travel to metros for advanced kidney and urology care.

The robotic surgery programme will benefit patients requiring surgeries like Prostate cancer surgery, Partial and Radical nephrectomy, Pyeloplasty, Ureteric reimplantation, Bladder surgeries, Ureteric stricture reconstruction, complex reconstructive urology, and paediatric robotic urology when indicated.

With the introduction of advanced robotic technology, AINU has several new and sophisticated procedures, including robotic prostate surgeries, complex urological and reconstructive procedures, partial nephrectomy, and kidney transplants, an official statement read.
