Six Districts Affected by Fresh Flooding in Assam

GUWAHATI (SHABD): Fresh flooding has affected several parts of Assam following heavy rainfall across the state and neighbouring regions.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), six districts are currently affected. Around 61 villages under 10 revenue circles in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Darrang, Jorhat and Sivasagar have been inundated.

The floods have affected 9,616 people and submerged nearly 180 hectares of agricultural land. Meanwhile, the Katakhal River is flowing above the danger level. No deaths or missing persons have been reported so far.
