Mao, June 5: Song Song Village Youth and Students’ Organization (SSYSO), in collaboration with the 16th Assam Rifles and A/109 Coy CRPF, led a tree plantation drive along SSYSO Road in Mao to mark World Environment Day. A total of 412 saplings were planted.

The drive saw the participation of 54 individuals, including local youth, volunteers, and security personnel. The effort aimed to promote environmental awareness and inspire collective action toward sustainability.

SSYSO President Sani Yisoji emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “Our actions today shape the reactions we receive from nature tomorrow. By going greener in our community, we preserve vital water resources for a sustainable future.”

Known for its Cherry Blossom Festival and rich agricultural landscape, Mao Gate once again demonstrated its dedication to environmental preservation. SSYSO extended its sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event.
