Ukhrul: Special summary revision of photo electoral rolls for the three assembly constituencies of 44-Phungyar, 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai was held on Wednesday at the conference of deputy commissioner Ukhrul. The meeting was chaired by Krishna Kumar, District Election Officer/ DC of Ukhrul in the presence of ERO, AEROs, SDOs, BLOs and political representatives from Ukhrul and Kamjong district, among others.
Speaking at the press meet, Krishna Kumar, IAS, district election officer (DEO) deliberated on Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls, 2023 and rationalization of polling stations in the district.
Draft roll publication w.r.t. 1 January, 2023 has been fixed on November 9, 2022 as the qualifying date.
43-Phugnyar (ST) AC has a total of 34,772 electors while 44-Ukhrul (ST) AC and 45-Chingai (ST) AC has 46,733 and 47,389 respectively. The three assembly constituencies has a total of 1,28,894 electors, he stated.
He continued that period of filing claims and objection will starts effective 9 November to 8 December, 2022.
As part of its activities during the Special Summary Revision (SSR) with reference to 1 January, 2023, Block Level Officers (BLOs) will visit house to house and carry out Aadhaar linkage for those not yet linked.
Fresh enrolment will be done through Form -6, while aadhaar linking will be process through Form – 6 B. Collection of data for death/permanently shifted/double entry for deletion will be done through Form – 7.
Shifting, correction, marking of PwDs and issue of replacement of EPIC card will be done through Form No. 8
As Amendment in the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960, and notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, dated 26th October, 2022, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be collecting forms 6 for eligible citizens, who is going to attain the age of 18 on any of the subsequent qualifying dates namely 1 January, 2023, 1 April, 2023, 1 July, 2023 and 1October, 2023.
The above forms can be submitted through online or offline mode.
For online mode, one can submit through the following websites namely nvsp.in; https://voterportal.eci.gov.in, and through Voter Helpline Mobile Apps while for Offline Mode, elegible voters can submit through concerned Booth Level Officers; AERO Office and at ERO Office.
ERO, SDOs and AEROs will randomly visit polling stations to monitored BLOs work.
Training for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in connection with SSR-2023 for 44-Ukhrul (ST) AC will be held on 10th November, 2022 at DRDA training hall, Ukhrul headquarters.
For 43-Phungyar (ST) AC it will be conducted on 15th November, 2022 at Phungyar, Kamjong, Kasom khullen, while for 45-Chingai (ST) AC it will be held on 14 November, 2022 at DRDA training hall, Ukhrul headquarters.
Activation of all electoral literacy clubs (ELC)will also be held in schools and colleges, while activation of Chunav Pathshalas will be carries out at all polling stations.
The DEO also sought cooperation of political parties and CSOs during SSR-2023 exercise.
Political parties may appoint Booth Level Agent (BLA).
Booth Level Agents (BLA) training programme for 44-Ukhrul (ST) AC will be held on 10 November, 2022 at DRDA Training Hall, Ukhrul headquarters.
For 43-Phungyar (ST) AC it will be held on 15 November, 2022 at Phungyar, Kamjong, Kasom Kl).
For 45-Chingai (ST) AC it will organised on 14 November, 2022 at DRDA training hall, Ukhrul.
BLA can submit 10 forms at polling stations. AERO or any person authorised by ERO have to check the forms submitted by BLA.
Final publication of electoral roll will be done on 5 January, 2023.
EPIC card will be distributed to fresh enrolled electors of age 18-19 years at National Voters Day which falls on 25 January, 2023.
