UKHRUL: All SpiceJet flights to and from Imphal Airport have been cancelled from April 7 to 14, according to the latest communication issued by the airline.
As per the airline, the flights have been cancelled due to operational reasons. This will affect the Imphal–Guwahati and Imphal–Kolkata sectors.
Imphal Airport, in a Facebook post, has requested all passengers to check with the airline for further updates and necessary arrangements.
The flights that have been cancelled are SG488 (Kolkata-Imphal-Guwahati) and SG487 (Guwahati-Imphal-Kolkata).
SpiceJet flight services connecting Imphal with Guwahati, Kolkata and Mumbai were flagged off by Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on February 10, 2026 at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

Meanwhile, Imphal Airport authority officials said that SpiceJet’s presence has significantly contributed to competitive and dynamic low airfares on the key routes connecting the state capital while raising concerns of fare hikes on these routes if SpiceJet were to permanently exit from Imphal.
“If SpiceJet were to permanently exit from Imphal, there is a strong possibility that fares on these routes could rise again—potentially returning to the levels seen between September and December last year, when fares to Guwahati from Imphal exceeded ₹10K by some operators due to high demand. Therefore, despite concerns regarding performance or punctuality, or a few days break it is only fair to acknowledge the positive impact SpiceJet has had in keeping air travel more affordable and accessible for passengers at Imphal,’ it stated.
