Ukhrul, October 29: The most anticipated College Week 2025 of St. Joseph College, Ukhrul, was inaugurated on Monday with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation from students and faculty members at the college compound.
Asish Das, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, attended the inaugural function as the Chief Guest. Principals from various schools and colleges across Ukhrul also graced the occasion as Special Guests.
The event began with a formal welcome address by Dr. Fr. Parvis John, Principal of St. Joseph College, who extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, guests, faculty, and students.

In his welcome speech, the Principal emphasized that “quality education is holistic development, and the College Week celebration is part of quality education.” He highlighted that such events nurture creativity, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students, core values that complement academic learning.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Asish Das, IAS, lauded the college for providing a platform where students can showcase their talents beyond the classroom. He encouraged the students “to learn and excel in life,” stressing that success comes through perseverance and a balanced pursuit of academics and extracurricular activities.
Representing the Special Guests, Yarmi Kashung, President of AURSUD, inspired the students with his message that “what the classroom does not give, the College Week celebration will provide.” He reminded the participants that such occasions build confidence and companionship that are vital in shaping their future.

Throughout the week, students will participate in a wide range of competitions, including Acting Play, Choir, Solo, Duet, Public Speaking, Extempore Speech, Quiz, Debate, Western Dance, Trio, Cultural Presentation, and various Games and Sports events. The college campus has come alive with color, excitement, and youthful energy as students from all departments prepare to compete and collaborate in the spirit of unity and excellence.
The week-long celebration will culminate on October 31, 2025, featuring a series of cultural, literary, and sports competitions that reflect the diverse talents of the students.
