Students of Don Bosco College Maram organised awareness cum cleanliness drive in Chingai

Ukhrul: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Students from Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram organized an awareness cum cleanliness drive at Chingai village on July 13.

The awareness program cum cleanliness drive was initiated by Ngalanim Rungsung, Ringpeiso Shimray, and Sochihan Kapai with the assistance and support of their HOD (Departmentof Social Work), Lokho Athishu and Assistant Professor, Evergreat Wanglar. They are students of BSW 2nd semester in Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram.

The program was conducted in two sessions covering topics like “Importance and Maintenance of Good Health” and “Hygiene” by Ngalanim Rungsung and Sochihan Kapai.

“The program’s primary objective was to enhance the villagers’ state of health. The program also interacted and explored the value of living a healthy lifestyle throughout the session”, mentioned Wanglar.

The villagers were also given information on the causes, progression, and methods of preventing various diseases.

Fifteen villagers took part in the programme. One of the village elders and the youth president of Chingai gave their vote of appreciation.

In the early morning hours, Chingai hamlet residents also participated in a cleanliness drive at Mission Ground and encouraged to give back to the community by volunteering their time and effort.
